Day of the Dead, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

This is a street scene in the magical Spanish colonial town of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico during the “Dia de los Muertos” (Day of The Dead) celebration in November 2019. So far, this has been the most challenging painting for me to do. I chose to do it because I knew it would be challenging to get the perspectives, the textures of the various walls, wooden doors and stone work, the mildew, the faded paint (not peeling), the wrought iron bars and lamp, the shop window and the objects in the window behind the glass.
